Dušan Mravlje
A #legend
that ran on three continents
Born in 1953, Dušan Mravlje is a Slovenian ultra-marathon runner who has won over 60 races. He has run an ultra-marathon on three continents (North America, Australia and Europe) and more than 300,000 kilometres in total. In 1986, when he won the famous Cagliari-Sassari race in Italy (254 km), he even improved the track record by four hours.
At the beginning of the running season, we recorded ...
At the beginning of the running season, we recorded a short film about his personal thoughts and life philosophy: “I have run over 300,000 kilometres in my life. Running is my life, and life is a long-distance run. I definitely passed my experiences to my daughter Neža. You probably are a legend if you ran 300,000 kilometres in your life. But for me, anyone who gets up from their couch and starts running is a legend.”
In the video he is joined by his daughter Neža, also an ultra-marathon runner: “I started running completely spontaneously, but was immediately addicted. I realized that running is in my blood. Morning run is the best way to start the day.”
